How long does it take to get my photos back?
It will typically take 1-2 weeks to get your photos back. Wedding and event photos may take up to 4-6 weeks. I'm just as excited as you are to see your finished photos, so I try to get them to you as fast as I can.
How do I get my photos?
When I am finished editing, I will upload all of your photos to Google Drive. I will send you the link to the site and you can download all of your images straight to your computer. You can also share this link with your family and friends. Only people with the link can view and download your photos.
Do you have a studio?
Do to lack of space in my home and to keep my overhead low, I do not have a studio. Personally, I prefer outdoor photos, it gives you more options and, of course, more room.
Do you require a deposit?
I do require a 50% non-refundable deposit, at the time of booking, to serve as a cancellation fee. This deposit/booking fee is just a way to protect myself and my time. I am giving up my free time and possibly turning down other clients to be there for you. See my Terms & Conditions page for more details about deposits.
What happens if the weather is bad?
In the event of rain, extreme heat, or extreme cold, sessions will be rescheduled to another date. The decision to reschedule is done within one day the session, sometimes even the day of.
When do you schedule sessions?
Since I work a full time job Monday-Friday, I typically only schedule sessions on the weekend. Generally, I spend Saturdays with my family, so I try to fill up Sundays first and then go to Saturdays. If you absolutely cannot do a weekend session, we can try to find an evening during the week that works for everyone (summer only).
How far in advance should I book a session?
You can book up to a year in advance (weddings can be booked sooner). The earlier you book, the better chance you have of getting the session you want. If you schedule a session, you are committing to being there. Again, I'm reserving that time just for you and your family, giving up my free time, and possibly turning down other clients who want that time slot. If you may not be able to commit far in advance, consider contacting me closer to the date you're interested in.
Where do photo sessions take place?
You name it! Popular places include parks, trails, your home, fields, downtown, or on campus (MU, Columbia College, Stephens). The session price includes locations within 15 miles of Columbia.
Can I post my images online?
Absolutely! Your session fee gives you personal reproduction rights to your photos, so you are welcome to use them in any non-commercial manner you wish. All I ask is that you do not crop out my logo.
Can I bring props to my session?
Yes! I encourage you to bring props, especially for babies and kids! Some ideas include a blanket, a favorite toy, a chalkboard, a chair or stool, birthday cake (great for 1st birthday), balloons, and any other items that will make your photos unique and special to your family.
How many outfit changes do I get?
You can bring as many outfits as you like. However, keep in mind that the time to change is included in your your session time.
Do we have to order prints through you?
Although I highly recommend my lab because of their professional quality, low prices and speed, you are welcome print your photos anywhere you wish. You’ll receive a print release upon the delivery of your images.
Do you have to share my photos online?
Although I love to showcase my work online to current and future customers, I totally understand the need for privacy in today’s world and respect your wishes. If you would prefer that I not share your photos on Facebook or on my website, just let me know.
How do I pay you?
I take cash or check. If you decide to pay by check, I will not start editing your photos until the check clears. I will charge an extra fee if your check happens to bounce.
